IRVINE, CA (July 18, 2019) – Montrose Environmental Group, Inc. (“Montrose”), a high-growth environmental services company, and Air, Water and Soil Laboratories, Inc. (“AWS”), a leading provider of air, water, and soil testing in the mid-Atlantic region, today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Montrose has acquired AWS. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

AWS is a full-service environmental laboratory in Richmond, VA that provides wastewater, groundwater, drinking water, soil, solids and air (indoor air quality, vapor intrusion, landfill gas and bio-gas) testing services.

Strategically this acquisition allows Montrose to expand its own fully accredited air, water, and soil environmental lab services to the East Coast through its wholly-owned subsidiary Enthalpy Analytical, LLC (“Enthalpy”).

“Since opening in 1994, AWS has provided stellar service and high quality, defensible data for compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations,” said Bryan Tyler, Senior Vice President at Enthalpy. Tyler will be overseeing the acquisition integration and be responsible for ongoing operations.

“Not only will this allow us to support our growing presence in the remediation space across the East Coast,” continued Tyler, “It will also help us achieve faster turnaround times and provide complementary services to East Coast clients.”

Carmela Liscio Tombes, AWS founder, echoed Tyler’s enthusiasm, stating “I’m happy Montrose found us. We’ve been approached by companies before, but this was different. Montrose is a company with a bigger picture and a true vision of what environmental services can be.”

Tombes added, “They are driven by customer service and good communication — the same things that propelled AWS’s growth all these years.”
